hi, my name is ann liu

i’m fascinated by how value takes shape and makes certain choices inevitable.

I’m especially drawn to the challenge of finding those answers within technologies that are completely new, or ideas that challenge inherited assumptions about how things should work.

i’ve spent my professional career creating marketing strategies that make a product legible, desirable, and valuable enough to endure.

So far, that’s been in institutional investing, luxury retail + fine art, and DeFi + digital assets.

some things i’ve achieved:

I joined the founding team of a novel DeFi economy that grew to 1.9 million cumulative users. I also built a go-to-market engine that more than doubled a paid investing community and generated over $1 million in two months.

Along the way, I scaled a TCG collectibles startup from approx. $1.2 million to $3 million in annualized revenue, contributed to a record $5.35 million U.S. retail year for one of the world’s great art publishers , and launched a Parisian luxury house’s first standalone American store from pre-revenue to six-figure sales within three months.

how I think about value:

Though rationality and utility are crucial to how we make decisions, our choices are also shaped by our needs for identity, aspiration, trust, status, belonging, and belief. I work to identify the point where what a product does becomes inseparable from what it represents, and give that relationship structure through positioning, narrative, and go-to-market strategy.

Ann Liu is a lifelong artist, and has also been a trader for almost 10 years.

Painting shaped my earliest understanding of communication and perception: how composition, symbolism, and emotion can converge within a single image to shape what people see and feel.

Trading helped sustain my early creative practice and taught me to understand markets as an instantaneous feedback loop in which narrative, incentives, timing, fundamental value, and collective belief shape price.

product marketing is where my instincts became useful together.
