hi, my name is ann liu
i’m fascinated by how value takes shape — and makes certain choices inevitable.
I’ve spent my professional career aiming to resolve the question of how does something become legible, desirable, and valuable enough to endure?
And laterally, what captures attention and how can product marketing isolate that signal and turn it into a repeatable strategy for growth?
I’m especially drawn to the challenge of finding those answers within technologies that are completely new or ideas that challenge inherited assumptions about how things should work.
So far, that’s been in institutional investing, luxury retail + fine art, and DeFi and digital assets since their infancy.

My main marketing thesis is that
though rationality and utility are crucial to how we make decisions, our choices are also shaped by our needs for identity, aspiration, trust, status, belonging, and belief.
The best marketing pairs:
In my approach to marketing, I aim strive to combine my tech-friendly (something that shows i know about novel tech like AI) ailities with intuitive understanding of human needs and patterns, with a sharp and aligned translation of the value.
— even as those needs change in shape, scale, or urgency.
Product marketing translates what is built into value that is legible, relevant, and compelling to the people they serve, even as their needs change in shape, scale, or urgency.
whether that is a paying customer or a soon-to-be customer.
Working collaboratively with my team, I look to close the distance between three things:
I turn market intelligence into measurable systems for growth.
This work is both creative and operational. A dream, a feeling, a story creates possibility. Strategy identifies the behavior, and execution turns it into a pattern that can be repeated and scaled.
I am a lifelong artist and practicing painter.
Less predictably, I have also been a cryptocurrency trader since 2017.
Art shaped my earliest understanding of communication and perception: how composition, symbolism, and emotion can converge within a single image to shape what people see and feel.
read my interview in Ocula Magazine →Trading helped sustain my early creative practice and taught me to understand markets as an instantaneous feedback loop in which narrative, incentives, timing, fundamental value, and collective belief shape price.
watch my lecture "Memecoins as Capital Markets" FWBFEST 2025 →Product marketing is where those instincts become useful together.
I move between the panoramic and the granular. I find patterns across different time horizons, determine what signals matter, and articulate what they reveal even before the full picture becomes obvious.
