Produced with Grammy Award–winning producer and a small developer team, NYX was conceived as a digital-only global superstar: part pop icon, part bionic entity, and intentionally suspended between aspirational human and overtly artificial persona.

Creative direction for the character was inspired by the fandom architectures behind artists such as LISA, Charli XCX, and Rosalía, the project extended beyond a visual avatar to become a fully integrated persona. More than 100 pages of behavioral and personality training material defined NYX’s social intelligence, emotional responses, humor, vocabulary, conversational boundaries, euphemisms, and context-dependent behaviors. Using ElevenLabs, her voice was modeled from my own voice to further blur the boundary between human authorship and synthetic identity.

The character system was translated into an interactive chatbot experience with a 3D holographic interface, expressive movement and reactions, and an autonomous posting system for X. The longer-term roadmap included co-producing original music with the producer, using NYX’s AI voice for vocals and extending the character across conversation, social media, and live performance.

NYX became an exploration of how voice, embodiment, personality depth, and social intelligence can transcend the mechanical experience of interacting with an AI agent.
